About
Growing up first in Paris and then New York City, Janet Macomber Williamson has lived in Portland, OR for nearly 30 years raising her family and exploring the Pacific Northwest. After graduating from Wesleyan University (CT) with a degree in art history, Janet later received Masters degrees in Education and later in Historic Preservation which led to work in museums, schools and non-profit organizations.
Always a maker, Janet returned to art school to focus on an early passion for ceramics and completed the Post Baccalaureate program at Oregon College of Art and Craft in 2018.
Focusing on household objects, domestic themes and spaces, Janet explores the ideas of memory and perspective working in mixed media. Her work is affected by the European influenced decorative objects, wallpapers and fabrics of her childhood.
